OK sucks...

I feel alive and it hurts for a change
I’m looking back its hard to believe
That I was cool with the days that I wasted
Complacent and tasteless and bored
But that was yesterday

Chorus
We’re never going back to ok
We’re never going back to easy
We’re never going back to the way it was
We’re never going back to ok

~The Afters

Contrary to popular belief, the Christian life is not the boring, run-of-the-mill, can't do anything lifestyle. Quite the opposite. The truth is that when we submit to Jesus Christ and give Him 100% of ourselves; we are about to embark on the craziest, most exciting time of our lives. Hence the reality that anyone who truly desires to live for Christ and take up their cross is most certainly a little crazy to begin with. Sure you can be luke-warm Christian and go to the services and say the 'right' things but what joy & fulfillment we miss out on because we are content with OK. I was content with OK, but not anymore. Once you experience that fresh breath it's as if your eyes are open to a whole new reality. There is so much more that God intends for us but we're content to eat the scraps off the floor when there's a buffet prepared for us.

German Coast Guard

It gives me some comfort to know amidst my struggles with German that it is a two-way street.
This is so true it's not even funny :-D

You don’t need to know where you’re going if you know the One who does.

Jesus Christ, I think upon Your sacrifice
You became nothing, poured out to death
Many times I've wondered at Your gift of life
And I'm in that place once again
I'm in that place once again

And once again I look upon the cross where You died
I'm humbled by Your mercy and I'm broken inside
Once again I thank You
Once again I pour out my life

Now You are exalted to the highest place
King of the heavens, where one day I'll bow
But for now, I marvel at Your saving grace
And I'm full of praise once again
I'm full of praise once again

Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross, my Friend

~Once Again (Matt Redman)

Still one of my favourite songs...I listen to it time & time again and draw strength and encouragement from it. And perhaps not for the reasons one would think; every time I try to do something in my own strength I am reminded of a quote I once read:

"In whatever we do, without God we will either fail miserably or succeed even more miserably."

When I am so sure of everything and all is working out, if God is not in my plans I sense a great lost and eventually come back and fall at His feet. Really not sure what to say but knowing I want His Holy Spirit to come and renew & refresh my heart, mind & soul. Hearing the song just makes me realize how weak & vulnerable I am but also that I have a Redeemer & Saviour who is exceedingly greater than anything I might encounter. And just coming to Him with a broken & contrite spirit; He restores me...Once Again
