Who Am I?

"Your destiny is to seek and find and bring home the lost. You are to remember the forgotten, to guide those who have wandered. I want to say to everyone, my comrade, what do you think and dream of? What lies nearest to your heart? Where is your ambition? In what direction do your hopes lie? Are you with the sheep which have been found, or is your heart outside with those which are lost? They are all around you; there are whole flocks of them in every land." --General Bramwell Booth

The Blessedness of Possessing Nothing

"Father, I want to know Thee, but my cowardly heart fears to give up its toys. I cannot part with them without inward bleeding, and I do not try to hide from Thee the terror of the parting. I come trembling, but I do come. Please root from my heart all those things which I have cherished so long and which have become a very part of my living self, so that Thou mayest enter and dwell there without a rival. Then shalt Thou make a place of Thy feet glorious. Then shall my heart have no need of the sun to shine in it, for Thyself wilt be the light of it, and there shall be no night there.
In Jesus' name.
Amen.

Home Again

It was an amazing summer in North Carolina...Met so many great people. I’ve never had the opportunity to work with such dedicated, talented, quality people. All serving Christ and with one goal in mind…to make the camp a little piece of heaven for the kids that came during the 6 weeks.

I feel the kids gave me so much more than I gave them. I just hope and pray that they saw Christ in my life and that they know how important & special each of them are. I may not see any of them in this life again but my prayer is that they will choose to dedicate their lives to Christ and live for Him.

Here’s to the campers & staff of Walter Johnson!

In Christ Alone

You have faced the mountains of desperation
You have climbed, you have fought, you have won
But this valley that lies coldly before you
Casts a shadow you cannot overcome

And just when you thought you had it all together
You knew every verse to get you through
But this time the sorrow broke more than just
your heart
And reciting all those verses just won't do it

Instead of asking why did it happen
Think of where it can lead you from here
And as your pain is slowly easing, you can find
a greater reason
To live you life trimphant through the tears

When answers aren't enough, there's still Jesus
He is more than just an answer to your prayer
And your heart will find a safe and peaceful refuge
When answers aren't enough, He is there

When answers aren't enough, He's still there.

--When Answers Aren't Enough; Scott Wesley Brown

"And I am convinced that nothing can ever seperate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries for tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away." .:Romans 8:38 NLT

"My gracious favour is all you need. My power works best in your weakness...Since I know it all for Christ's good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I weak, then I am strong." .:2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NLT
